Asd absorbing boundary conditions and rocking

Post by Aliyaghfoori » Tue Oct 15, 2024 7:17 am

Dear stko
I have used ASDAbsorbingBoundary Condition to model soil and DSM(block deep soil mixing) .
when i imposed exrthquake in one direction(for example 1-dir) i can record rocking on the DSM.(the displacement in 2-direction on the left and rigth of the DSM is opposite) but when i imposed earthquake in 2 direction(1 and 2 simultanously) i cant record rocking.
There isnt any interface between soil and ‌DSM, the interface nodes contant directly.

Thank you for your reply.
Actually, I've developed my model directly in Tcl envinroment scripting.
In the first step I have used asd absorbing boundary conditions and Insert earthquake in X direction

ASDAbsorbingBoundary........... - fx $tsx

In this situation there is rocking motion on the DSM.

But in the second step when i insert earthquake in x and y direction
ASDAbsorbingBoundary..... - fx $tsx - fy $tsy

I cant record rocking motion on the Dsm.

Unfortunately, it's difficult to tell without further information.
From those 2 lines of code I see no mistakes.

What you can do is to insert the tcl command for the mpco recorder and look at the results in the stko post processor and see if something is odd
