Clarification Needed on Pre-strain Definition for Steel02 Material

Dear STKOteam,

I am reaching out for guidance on properly defining pre-strain for my steel02 material.

Initially, I attempted to achieve this by setting 'sigInt' to 200MPa in the steel02 material. However, during the initial calculation stages, I encountered an issue where the stress of the reinforcement failed to reach the targeted prestress value, and the strain remained negative. Subsequently, although the target prestress was eventually achieved, the corresponding displacement value hovered around 0. Hence, I am curious to know if the calculated strain is relative to the expected value. Just like what is in the figure with 100 steps and a duration is 1.


Furthermore, I would greatly appreciate insights into the distinctions between 'sigInt', 'IniStressMaterial', and 'IniStrainMaterial', as the outcomes deviate from my expectations.

Hello, InitStressMaterial and InitStrainMaterial serve as wrappers for various uniaxial materials, including Steel02. To apply pre-stress using these wrappers, you must configure sig0 as one of the parameters. For more information, please refer to the provided links.
