How to convert a nonlinear isotropic material into an orthotropic material?

Post by C=MK » Fri Oct 29, 2021 6:24 am

Currently, I am modeling the wall of the masonry and I studied while watching ASEA TEAM's E-learning related to the masonry wall.
Main question is "How to convert a nonlinear isotropic material into an orthotropic material?"
The DamageTC3D model has been applied to bricks and mortar, and I want to convert it into orthotropic material. So I tried applying "materials.nD.OrthotropicMaterial", but the following situation occurred .

How can i convert it into orthotropic material?

Dear C=MK,

can you upload your model as a zip file so we can have a look?

This is the model I'm using as a practice example for the analysis of the masonry wall.

In the model you sent there is no orthotropic material, can you send me the model that generates that error?

Dear STKO Team

I'm really sorry. I attached it incorrectly. This is the orthotropic material example model that I use.
Once again, I'm sorry and thank you for trying to solve my problem.

Sincerely,
CMK

Dear C=MK,
sorry for the late response.
To input the orthotropic material in the LayeredShell you need to create a PlateFiber material referencing your orthotropic one, to then reference that in the LayeredShell. It's just an extra step, not a PlateFiber section, just a material.
Let me know if it works.
