Good morning, everyone.
I am trying to develop the Haselton reinforced concrete model ID1010. I am attempting to incorporate soil-structure interaction by using a zero-length spring at the base of the column. However, when I include it, the model becomes unstable or fails. I am unable to identify the issue.
I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions.
Thank you!
Soil-Structure Interaction in Haselton RC Model ID1010
Re: Soil-Structure Interaction in Haselton RC Model ID1010
Your MK models do not offer any residual strength after the theta_u, so it will drop to zero.
In this picture I increased the ultimate ratio to 0.1 to show the drop.
However, since you are using a small ratio (0.01), you can also use a large theta_u, in this way you will have a very small residual strength
