Hello STKO team,
I have been working on an analysis of a building representing the 1976 UBC. I have had success with using P-delta, when I change the transfer type for the elastic-beam element property. When I try to change it to corotational, I have the following error:
Modified Ibarra-Medina-Krawinkler Model with Peak-Oriented Hysteretic Response
CorotCrdTransf3d::CorotCrdTransf3d: rigid joint zones not implemented yet
Using zero values
CorotCrdTransf3d::CorotCrdTransf3d: rigid joint zones not implemented yet
Using zero values
CorotCrdTransf3d::CorotCrdTransf3d: rigid joint zones not implemented yet
I am not sure what this error means, could you help me diagnose this issue? I have attached a copy of my model
Many thanks,
Kate

Re: Corotational with Elastic Beam Column Elements
Hi, this message appears because the rigid joint offset option for Corotational geometric transformation is not implemented in 3D case.

Ah, Ok, so for my 3D modeling I should stick to using P-delta or linear? Corotational can only be used in 2D modeling?

Re: Corotational with Elastic Beam Column Elements
It is better to use P-Delta if the drift is significant because the second-order effect can influence the bending moments in structural members.Ah, Ok, so for my 3D modeling I should stick to using P-delta or linear?
Yes, if you use any rigid joint offsets.Corotational can work only in 2D modeling?
