L section

Hi all,
I have some doubts with L sections. I have used Property -> Model -> sections -> Elastic.
I have seen that L sections are available to select. However, dimensions of cross sections are in inches in the Beam Section Editor. In addition, there is not inertia product Iyz. This value is necessary because the section is not symmetrical with respect to y-axes or z-axes.
I have tried to draw a fibre section to represent a L section.

Do not pay attantion to the unit system, because OpenSees does not have the units... Just enter the values consistently with the unit system you are using in your model

YOu are right, the Elastic section in OpenSees originally did not support un-symmetric sections in terms of intertia product. Probably they fixed it recently, but I'm not sure (I will take a look at the new code)

For the moment creating an elastic fiber section is the way to go
