MVLEM and rebar slip

Post by Kate_Rhoades » Mon Sep 01, 2025 7:47 pm

Hello STKO team,

I am working on modifying some of my shear wall models, and one item I would like to incorporate is rebar slip within a pushover model of a singular wall. I know that for the SFI model I can simply change a factor, but I'm not sure how to incorporate rebar slip for the MVLEM model. Do you have any recommendations? I have also attached a zip file with the pushover model. If you can modify it to show some examples of how to incorporate the rebar slip, I would be incredibly grateful.

Thank you!

As far as I know, the FSAM model to be used in the FSI_MVLEM element assumes perfect bond, so if you want bar slip you have to somehow incorporate the slip effect within the steel model itself.

We just developed the ASDSteel1D model that has that (among other features), have a look at it and see if it works with the FSAM model:

We also gave a webinar about that
