Hello, STKO Team,
I have been following various forum posts and YouTube videos to create a Free-Field Boundary, and I have finally developed the following result.
Currently, I am in the process of verifying whether the seismic wave has been correctly applied using a Ricker Wave.
In my model, the Ricker Wave with a frequency below 1 Hz is applied correctly. However, for higher frequencies (e.g., 3 Hz, 10 Hz), the maximum acceleration amplitude (1 m/sec²) is reduced, and the Ricker Waveform becomes distorted. And i tried changing mesh size also, but it seems to not be reason. Could you provide any advice regarding this issue?
I provided the necessary files (L-K dashpot coefficient, .scd file, Ricker Wave, Figures)
Best regards,
DY

Re: Free-Field Boundary Problem
The wavelength (based on your G-rho-freq) is larger then your model. at the bottom you will see reflection from the free top surface before the input wave exits from the bottom.
