Re: Spring element
It is a simplified model, I don't want to simulate the contact I just need to model the beam and the concrete fall on it for a deformability verification. When the fall of the concrete block occurs on the beam, this would tend to deform towards the extrados in areas adjacent to the loading area ...

Spring element
Hi to everyone, I have some questions... I have to model a steel beam of a tunnel and simulate a fall of a block of the concrete coating, so I have to calculate the displacement at the top of the beam. I think to a 2D model. The conditions that I want to simulate is the fact that around the beam we ...

Analysis problems
Hello to everyone, I have some problems with my model, it is a gerber joint of a prestressed reinforced concrete bridge. I'm doing the analysis on a computer that has 24 logical processors, I'm therefore using an analysis on multiprocessors with openseesmp (24 partitions), however, the model has a ...

Parameter setting_Gerber joint
About my last topic... comparing the results with those I have available from some experimental data, the load-displacement curves don't show a similar trend. I made a mistake in choosing the tensile strength, the value I chose was the flexural one. At the moment I entered a value equal to 2/3 of ...

Re: convergence error
Ok, I was thinking wrongly that an unstructured mesh could be better in more complicated models, by the way, I'll try to create a structured one. Thank you again!

Re: Load-displacement curve
Sorry, I'm just looking at your suggestions, I'll try to model the support differently. Thank you very much for helping.

convergence error
Hello to everyone, I have a convergence problem in my analysis. Could it be caused by the fact that when I modeled the reinforcement bars I didn't create a chamfer for the fold of the bars? Is it necessary to do it every time in order to avoid singularity problems? Thanks in advance.

Re: Initial stress for prestressing
Ok, thanks a lot for the clarifications. So if I understood correctly I should carry out a stage analysis in which in the first analysis I have no loads, (linear algorithm with a single step) then I add the loads and perform the second analysis, as is shown in the picture attached. Is it correct ...
