Modeling Random Field of Soil in STKO

Dear STKO Team,

I hope you are doing well.

I would like to kindly ask whether STKO already offers an option to model heterogeneous soil using a random soil media approach.

What I mean is not the conventional layered soil approach, where each soil layer has a specific thickness and the same elastic modulus throughout the layer. Instead, I am referring to a case where each point in the soil domain may have a different elastic modulus, assigned for example at different Gauss points. An example of this type of study is shown in the attached figure:

In the figure, the red regions represent areas with higher values of (E), while the green regions represent lower values. Overall, the material properties vary randomly throughout the soil domain.

If this feature is not currently available in STKO, could you please let me know whether there is a way to implement it? I would appreciate any guidance on a possible workflow.

For example, my understanding is that I would need to generate a matrix containing the locations of the Gauss points and the corresponding values of (E), (G), and other relevant parameters, which could be obtained theoretically. However, it is not clear to me how these values can be assigned directly to the Gauss points in STKO.
