Subject: OpenSees 3.7.1 Solver Kit Configuration Issue in STKO (File Read Error)
Dear STKO Support,
I’m currently using STKO with OpenSees version 3.7.1, and I’m encountering a persistent issue when trying to run a model or material test.
I’ve configured the Solver Kit manually by setting the command as:
"D:/OpenSees3.7.1/bin/OpenSees.exe"
I’ve also created a .bat file to run the generated main.tcl file, and it works correctly when run directly outside of STKO.
However, when I try to run the same model from within STKO (or when using the material tester), I get the following error in the command window:
couldn't read file "": no such file or directory
It seems STKO is passing an empty file path ("") to the OpenSees executable, rather than the actual main.tcl file or the correct material test script.
I suspect there may be an issue with how STKO handles:
spaces or non-English characters in the path (e.g., 바탕 화면)
the way the Solver Kit passes file paths to OpenSees
Could you please advise me on:
How to properly configure the Solver Kit for OpenSees 3.7.1?
Whether spaces or Korean characters in paths are problematic for STKO?
How to avoid this "couldn't read file """ error?
I’d appreciate any step-by-step guidance.
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,
Hongki Park
