Why do I need to install the opensees solver？

Why do I need to install the opensees solver, is it ok to just use version 3.6.0 from the opensees official website?

Hi, Yes, you can use OpenSees from its official webpage. It is only for a convenience that OpenSees-Solvers is used, since it takes care of including HDF5 libary etc at one folder installation. Even you can use your own compiled OpenSees version, just keep it in the "Opensees-bin" folder so that STKO can recognize it.
