Dear community,
We have to perform a pushover analysis of a bridge with a simple deck.
We are modeling the columns using rectangular fiber sections, while the deck is a shell element with RCSection2D. Consider that the chosen units are N and mm. Self-weight has been added as 'eleLoad' in the columns and as a Face Force in the shell.
We have tried to run a first analysis with vertical loads, but not reaching the convergency, but we are not being able to identify the mistake. Could you please give your opinion? (file attached).
Thanks!

Re: bridge convergency issue
The RCSection2D is for beam element in 2D analysis, not for shells.
For shells you need:

ASDConcrete3D: A new 3D constitutive model for concrete and masonry like materials
For shells you need:
- A 3D material for concrete (for example ASDConcrete3D)
- A uniaxial material for steel
- Convert the uniaxial material into shell reinforcement
- Use a layered shell section to combine the above
