Section creator center of mass

Dear STKO,

I have a symmetrical problem, hence I am only modeling half of my domain. However, in the beam fiber section editor my half geometry's center of mass/inertia can not be modified. Due to the way stko applies the section geometry to the beam elements this results in an erroneous position of my beam. I want the application point of the section to be on the linear edge of my half circle, as shown in the figure, in order to place the half-pipe beam at the model boundary. Is there a trick that I can use to force STKO to use a different reference point for the placement of my cross section? Or the visualization has no affect on the way the numerical calculations are carried out? Not even when using contact elements between the beam and it's embedment domain?

Dear Bence,

if you know the distance between those two points you can use an offset in the Y direction. It does count where the section is placed in reference to the characteristic axis so do place it where you want it to be.
