Hi;

We have a solid masonry structure model which is meshed in Midas GEN before. I know this is not convenient for STKO but is it possible to use a specific mesh in STKO created in another software?(Maybe using Python scripting?)

I tried to import it using IGES format and wanted to merge it in STKO. After that I was planning to assign large edge seed sizes to force STKO to use the mesh as it is, but the model was very big and STKO crashed during merging process.

The merge operation is very expensive and if you have many geometries it may crash.
However, you have 2 options:

• Do the merge step by step, merging few hundreds of surfaces at a time. Finally you should be able to merge everything into a single geometry
• If your model is made of only surfaces, do not use the merge command (which is the most generic one, thus the most expensive), use the SewFaces instead
