Hi, I have the following question: In the webinar about distributed plasticity in RC frames, when wanted to choose the material properties in the column fiber, there was no material for the concrete core because supposedly you could obtain the unconfined and confined section, but I did not really understand. On the other hand, when wanted to do the same for the beam fiber, choose both core and cover. Hence, I would like to clarify me this doubt.

The rectangular fiber section is a special utility that builds a fiber section with 3 groups of fibers:
Now, if you provide the concrete material only for the cover, STKO will automatically create a copy of that material, but with modified properties to account for the confinement effect. The modified parameters are computed based on the section geometry and stirrups data.
On the other hand, if you don't want to use the automatic confinement tool, you can still explicitly provide a material for the core. In that case STKO will just use that material as it is.
- fibers for rebars
- fibers for core concrete
- fibers for cover concrete
