I am trying to run the example of response spectrum available on
https://opensees.github.io/OpenSeesDocu ... ctrum.html, in tcl, however it is giving an error of invalid command as shown in the figure.

Just change the "responseSpectrum" command with "responseSpectrumAnalysis".
We recently changed the name and updated the documentation. However the official documentation still has to be re-compiled

I am currently trying to do response spectrum analysis for 4 storey building to understand the output and trying to record accelerations. Currently using the same response spectrum from the example, the acceleration recorded for every mode is same.
The following snap shows the model along with time period of each mode and recorded acceleration and commands used for recording.
How should be acceleration recorded, the above recording commands seems to be not working ?

Response spectrum is not a real transient analysis. You cannot record accelerations as in a transient analysis
