How to adjust the hysteresis curve

Post by [email protected] » Tue Jul 04, 2023 7:50 am

Thanks to STKO I was able to build my own model quickly, but I had difficulty adjusting the hysteresis curve (the curve of the top of the column with respect to force and displacement). Anyway, I can't get the trend I want, can you help me with a little advice, thank you very much.

Your model is mainly governed by the Pinching4 material of the node.
However the Pinching4 shows pinching only on reloading, but not in the backbone.
Instead, your experimental curve shows pinching also in the backbone.

You can try to build the behavior you want, starting from simple materials and combining them in parallel.
The last material in this file (

) is a simple demonstration (of course you have to adjust material parameters, I just put some representative values):

When I want to test the material, the curve cannot be displayed, why is that

This is strange. It looks like OpenSees is printing a special character to the console.
Try this:
Copy this modified script (unzip it first) in C:\Program Files\STKO\external_solvers\opensees\utils\Gui and replace the current one.
TesterUtils.zip
(1.12 KiB) Downloaded 247 times
It will print some extra debug information to the STKO's Terminal.
Please, copy the output from the STKO's terminal and paste it here.

I made a replacement, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work.

I need the whole text in the terminal, not just a screenshot.
I didn't put anything to solve the problem, I just put some extra debug info to better understand where the issue is.
Please click in the terminal and selectAll->copy->paste here
