Non convergence problem due to large structural load

Hi STKO,
I am running a soil-pile interaction model. which is similar to your webinar 25. After applying self-weight load of soil, I apply structural load. However, there is a non-convergence issue during structural load application. I tried to reduced structural load by multiplying 0.1 --> It run well.

Does this non-convergence issue come from my model, especially soil-pile interaction (issue of selecting the Kn, Kt values of zerolengthContactASD element) or due to the large structural load I applied?

How are you appling your load? If the model is non linear and the input load is large, it's better to apply the load incrementally (with a linear time series) and many time steps
