Hi I am trying to view the mean effective pressure in the soil and the onset of plasticity at different parts in the soil but I am not too sure how to do it, would you be able to help. The soil is modelled with SSP brick elements.
The model in question is attached.

3D modelling of a pile in soil
Hi I am trying to model a pile as 3D in a Drucker Prager soil (model attached), but I am having convergence issues (the model is not partitioned in the form sent, but that is not the issue, its within the analysis itself as it runs the first 2/3 stages when I partition it) and connot see what I have ...

Varying the stiffness of contact elements with respect to depth
Hi,
At the moment I am using zerolengthcontactASDimplex contact elements for a soil-pile interaction in the model attached. However I can only put them into layers, is there a way to vary the stiffness of these contact elements as a function/continuously or would I have to use a different type of ...

Re: Failure to converge analysis with DruckerPrager
Thanks for your help, I am now able to evaluate stresses. As the deadline to my project is looming and getting the Drucker Prager model working would be ideal, is there anything I could try to get the Drucker-Prager model to converge in the model on my initial post. Do you have any idea what the ...

Re: Failure to converge analysis with DruckerPrager
Hi,
I have attempted to use the Manzari-Dafalias model (I am aiming for a perfectly elastic-plastic model) however to check whether it is has the desired response before I implement it into the model I have set up a 1 element test. The point of this element test is to consolidate pressure in the x ...

Failure to converge analysis with DruckerPrager
Hi,
I have tried to include a drucker prager model into my analysis of a layered soil with different elastic stiffnesses into each layer. Each layer has 0 cohesion hence the sigmaY value in all drucker prager layers is 0 and each layer has a different friction angle (peak friction angle) hence the ...

Re: Varying Young's Modulus in a soil
Thank you, are you able to add an InitialStateAnalysisWrapper to this method by simply selecting the randomisedmaterialwrapper in the nDMatTag or is there something else that needs to be done to keep the stresses in the soil but reset the displacement.

Varying Young's Modulus in a soil
Hi,
Is there any way to vary the Young's Modulus in a single elastic compound with the depth by a function or some other method. Or will I have to use layered elastic soils, each with a different Young's Modulus to approximate the Young's Modulus curve that I want.
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Including effects of a water table in soils for a soil-pile interaction model
Hi,
I have pasted the model in this response and also have a few other queries about the model I hope you could answer. This model (STKO soil-pile model) effective stress diagram.png[/attachment] does not converge in its current setup, however when applying a constant load to the top of the pile ...

Re: Including effects of a water table in soils for a soil-pile interaction model
Should mention that the soil domain is modelled as an elastic isotropic material as per the soil-pile interaction webinar.
