Hello STKO team,
Thank you for your previous response. However, I’m trying in fact to visualize the progressive formation of plastic hinges, in concordance with the force-displacement curve. In that case, will it be more pertinent to see the section.force results (E5 – E6), and what is the ...

Re: Plastic Hinges
Hello STKO team,
I’m trying to visualize the progressive formation of plastic hinges. My model is a two story masonry building, built using the distributed plasticity approach (Fiber sections). So, as suggested in the previous post, I’m doing the gauss-plot in the post-processor using the ...

Re: Flexible diaphragm interaction
Hi Clarabella,
The diaphragm I’m trying to model is a flexible floor, made of wooden beams. I don’t want to model the beam elements; I just want to take into account the walls connection that assures the slab. That’s why I was wondering which constraints I must consider to represent this link ...

Flexible diaphragm interaction
Hello STKO team,
I’m trying to model a two-story masonry building, with a wooden flexible diaphragm. What are the constraints that I must consider in my model to represent the flexible floor?
P.S: I’m using the Equivalent Frame Modelling approach
Many thanks in advance!

Re: Reinforced masonry wall
Hello Lucy and Clarabella,
Here attached the model that I built to model the building without the horizontal connections. Can you please check it for me?

On the other hand, I have two more questions:
1 – I understand that to consider the presence of the lintel beams, I ...

Re: Reinforced masonry wall
Hello Clarabella,
In the attached picture, you didn’t consider the presence of the spandrels in the 1st level of the wall. Is it because they don’t have any effect on the response of the structure? Many thanks for your support!

Re: Reinforced masonry wall
Dear Lucy and Clarabella,
Many thanks for your consistent reply and support.
I’ve checked the literature as you recommended, and I found effectively many interesting papers. The axial compression exerted by the out-of-plane walls through the horizontal diaphragms and lintels could increase the ...

Re: Reinforced masonry wall
Dear Lucy,
Can you please explicit what you mean by increasing the wall strength? How can I do it and which parameters should I change exactly? Also, if you have any available published literature in this context, can you please share it with me?
Many thanks.

Re: Reinforced masonry wall
Hi STKO teams,
I've tried to fix the errors I had last time on my model. It still doesn't converge for the gravity analysis, but the analysis runs at least. Many thanks in advance !

Re: Reinforced masonry wall
Hi Lucy,
I’m trying to model the following wall:

It's a masonry wall, with horizontal bands of reinforced concrete.

To do so, I started modeling the geometry on STKO as the following:

Here attached the model that I've built just to have an idea about it (I still need ...
