You are right, you need also to consider the spandrels at the first floor. please add to Clarabella's idealization the spandrels at the base.

The horizontal connections improve the in-plane and out-of-plane strength of masonry.
It is not correct to model the walls as you did. You need to model the equivalent frame in the usual way increasing the wall strength. Typically the shear strength increases of 30/50% you should ...

You can use the implex contact we implemented in OpenSees and define the friction. It is the perfect way if you want to model rocking or a general contact.

You can define regions In the preprocessor and then in the recorder indicates to save only those regions. You can have as many recorders as you like and save data from different regions. For example displacements of the entire model or stresses of a small portion
