Re: About a convergence problem
Thank you very much for your prompt reply and for providing a working version of the model!
I followed the issues you've pointed out. I think I have corrected the issues regarding contact element being empty and the local axis.
But Could you tell me in the selection set which part of the soil ...

About a convergence problem
Dear STKO Team,
Before creating my actual model for a journal paper, I am trying to create a simple 3D model with pile similar to "sfsi model" from one of your advance lessons.
I did not want to change many parameters and features before I was confident for constructing the model.
But, I am ...

Oh, I see!
I thought you were asking about the material nonlinearity for the soil and structure.
Thank you very much for your help!

Re: About the 3D model from the New Element Presentation - ASDAbsorbingBoundary
Yes, it is actually elastic, but I'm not using the one you uploaded. I remodelled the old model from the previous webinar as I was watching Massimo's last webinar. I built finer meshes in the center like a + symbol as Massimo described.
And I thought the warning was because of me meshing finer so ...

Re: About the 3D model from the New Element Presentation - ASDAbsorbingBoundary
So, it doesn't affect the result?
Computation time decreased almost in half when using 200 as the ICNTL value.
Is it normal?

Re: About the 3D model from the New Element Presentation - ASDAbsorbingBoundary
ICTL14 attribute controls the "percentage increase in the estimated working space"
If it's equal to 20 for example, It means you are telling the solver that it can increase the allocated space for the analysis by maximum of 20 times, it is a way to avoid OpenSees saturating your compute memory ...

Re: About the 3D model from the New Element Presentation - ASDAbsorbingBoundary
Dear Francesca,
Thank you for your reply.
About the model, I run it and I got the Warnings as below. I did as the instruction led me. And I checked -ICNTL14 box in dynamic analysis, left it as default for ICNTL14 Value as 200.
I successfully ran the analysis. Actually, computation time was less ...

Hello STKO Team,
I solved the problem, I forgot to add selection sets for monitor soil base and top...
Now It's running. You can ignore the post. But I'm still waiting for your response to my email.
Have a great weekend.

About the 3D model from the New Element Presentation - ASDAbsorbingBoundary
Dear STKO Team,
I was studying the model from Massiomos' last Webinar. I've changed the mesh as he described during the webinar. But when I ran I got the error like below. What am I doing wrong? Attached are the error and the model.
P.S. I sent an email on Monday, I wonder if you've received it ...
