Re: Modal Analysis + Mass Partiticipation Factors

Thank you for the reply
Understood.
I am currently trying to do response spectrum analysis for 4 storey building to understand the output and trying to record accelerations. Currently using the same response spectrum from the example, the acceleration recorded for every mode is same.
The following ...

Re: Modal Analysis + Mass Partiticipation Factors

I am trying to run the example of response spectrum available on https://opensees.github.io/OpenSeesDocu ... ctrum.html, in tcl, however it is giving an error of invalid command as shown in the figure.

Re: Modal Analysis + Mass Partiticipation Factors

Hello
I wanted to know if modal and response spectrum analysis is added to the recent version of opensees ?

Re: pushover analysis

Thank you very much for the help.
I get what you are saying. With pushover, I wanted to check how progressive collapse of the dome occurs.

Re: pushover analysis

I conducted nonlinear time history analysis on the dome and the observed peak displacement magnitude is higher than the pushover. I am attaching a plot of peak displacement observed for the dome. So if the nonlinear THA response is larger, I was wondering if there is something wrong with the way ...

Re: pushover analysis

for non linear THA the model is showing larger displacement.
How can this issue be solved?

Re: pushover analysis

Thank you very much for the help.

I was wondering doesn't the pushover still continue even if 3 members are failing and show decreasing branch after peak, to observe progressive collapse and how it is spreading over the structure.

Re: pushover analysis

Please find the attached model. Yes, I have material as well as geometrical nonlinearity in my model.

Re: pushover analysis

Dear Team,

I am doing Pushover analysis of a spherical lattice dome of span 40 m and height 13.33 m. I checked the elastic pushover analysis first to make sure the model is fine. But when doing non linear pushover I am getting convergence issue. I have attached the graph drift of apex node (mm) vs ...

Re: Time History Analysis

This forum has been one stop solution for my OpenSees problem. I am very thankful for your kind suggestions.

I would like to know is there any way to find damping force in a member. I know OpenSees provide damping force at nodes but if one would like to extract damping force in an element is there ...
